Join Sylvia for a new series of myth and writing workshops through the winter of 2025-2026. Each workshop will begin with Sylvia’s live telling of a fairytale or myth, followed by a short break, and then a series of guided writing exercises in the second hour to walk you deeper into the story’s landscapes, characters and living magic.
In this session, Sylvia will tell one or two Eastern European fairytales about swan-women with white-feathered bird capes and their long lost beloveds, stork-women who fly to the underworld and back, “beyond the fortieth wave,” who return with babies and spring under their wings. What does it mean to both seek and guard the very old mysteries of the primordial feminine soul? What does it mean to trust in a love that has flown out of our sight?
